Saturday 26th April

I know my challenge Walking for Nablus is over,  but today I walked for Nablus again but this time with a group from Witherley.

We set out from Witherley Parish Rooms at 10am and walked local footpaths from Witherley towards Ratcliffe Culey back around to Atterton village where we stopped for coffee and cake at one of the farm houses there.  A very welcome stop it was too and in my case included a change of footwear from wellington boots to walking shoes.

Then it was a walk along Atterton Lane back to the Parish Rooms for a lunch of home made soup, bread, cake and fresh fruit, plus plenty of tea and coffee.  Despite a wet and windy weather forecast it was a dry and mostly warm walk even though there were times when the wind whipped across the fields and it did rain for a short time when we were having lunch.  All in all it was a great day out and raised close to £200 for the Bishop’s Lent Appeal for Nablus.

Thank you to everyone in Witherley for making me so welcome every single time I’m there.

P.S. We walked over 12,000 steps.  Well done everyone.

Today’s main picture is of today’s walking group before we set off, but the picture below was taken in Israel on Temple Mount and shows the whole group including our guides Andre and Olga.

If you can manage to spot me in this picture you’re doing well, it took me ages to find me!  Without trying I’m hiding well.

Friday 18th April – Good Friday

Today is Good Friday which means there are only two more days in my self imposed challenge.  I can’t decide if I’m happy or sad about that but I’m certainly proud of how generous and encouraging my supporters have been.  It’s very humbling.

Last night I drove down to Witherley Parish Hall and shared Passover Supper with families from the Fenn Lanes Group of Churches including my sister and some of the other pilgrims who travelled to Israel last year all in aid of the Bishop of Leicester’s Lent Appeal for Nabulus. Monday 14th April

Morning folks,

A quick post before I head into work after the best part of a week off, when I didn’t manage as much walking as I had planned.  Sadly a sore throat and cold robbed me of energy and enthusiasm, but a day of retail therapy for my sister’s birthday and then lots of encouragement from my family meant I did manage 10,000 steps on two days.  Apologies to my boys for how much I complained on one of those days. 🙂 Continue reading Monday 14th April

Wednesday 26th March

Grrrr…Half way through this afternoon I found I wasn’t wearing my pedometer.  Once I got past the panic that I’d actually lost it – following some frantic texts to my husband to look for it at home – I was left just feeling irritated that I’d even walked before work today and hadn’t got those steps counted.   So I’m being up front here and saying I will be adding a guesstimate of 2,200 steps to whatever total I manage during this evenings walk.
